In case you are like me and accidentally/not pay attention and hook up the vcc to ground and fry them. I've done that at least a couple of times. Lol _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.
So I was super busy and didn't have time to get to my router until today. I have it all set up, the adapter works perfectly this time, but putty says:
Digital core power voltage set to 1.0V
Decompressing...error 1
And Ctrl+C does not suspend it, I have a solid green cursor and it just hangs there. Anything else I can do?
try doing a reset a couple times see if you can get a prompt
did you connect the adapter correctly
its TX to RX
And RX to TX
and Grnd to Grnd
that error indicates that the CFE is toast
meaning you need to reflash the chip over JTAG
did you try reversing the RX/TX pins
if you have them backwards you won't be-able to send inputs to the serial con
try them the other way
Another possibility is that you aren't being quick enough with your control+c you only have a split second
if you have to click to focus the window or hesitate at all you will miss it
could also be your adaptor isn't playing nice
serial adapters can be kind of finicky about what chips/cfe's they will play nice with

If I reverse RX and TX, putty won't even recognize it when it's turned on, so it won't show any message at all, just the solid green cursor. I had it right the first time.
I tried spamming Ctrl+C while powering on the unit with my other hand.
If it was the adapter, it wouldn't read it, and Malachi said he bought this same one for his own use. I had an adapter earlier that wouldn't even read it. Considering it is reading, I think it probably just is toast?

Sorry for bumping an old thread but since i haven't found anything newer about the issue i would like to report i have the same problem after trying to flash a clean cfe to recover from vortex firmware and the known issue not saving settings after restart.
Is there a way or we are done ?
