I have currently an ASUS AC66U with DD-WRT giga on it. I have upgraded my ISP speed to gigabit and with direct connection i easily reach 940 mbit on my pc.

If i use my AC66 in can only reach approx 450 mbit using the gigabit LAN Port. So i need a good new router which, without problems, is able to handle a gigabit connection over lan and the usual wifi (3 and 5 ghz).

For obvious reasons, it should achieve the gigabit lan speed using DD-WRT.

Currently i have DD-WRT v3.0-r33215M giga installed on my AC66U.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Hi, maybe a Linksys EA8500, stable, dual core@1.4ghz, 4x4 streams and 128m flash/512m RAM....very good price con eBay.

Better with a Netgear R7800.

On the EA8500, both WAN and LAN share a 1Gig connection to the CPU. On the R7800, they have both one each.

Very true.

EA8500 is a great deal for what you pay, but with limitations (1Gb shared, no VHT160, slower cpu, slightly older radio chipset).

Used EA8500 is worth 20-40 USD.

Used R7800 is worth 60-80 USD. Very rare does it go lower.
