Well i just reverted to the older one and all is good. I appreciate all the help and feedback you have given this noob. BS is doing a great job, and the others that help and do their bit, of course. I also am enjoying the forum, the banter and the general knowledge thats passed around. Smile

Yes, i did a factory reset and i even did a nvram erase. The link you sent me was exactly what mine was doing,
but even after resetting a few times i could not get the router to work as it should.
I have gone back to 42410 and everything is running so well.

I would probably try 42460 again without reset and make sure ath0
is not set to Auto channel before you do but that is just me.

A reset will put channel selection back to auto.

After a flash upgrade wait 10 minutes and if it's still unresponsive go ahead and turn the power off for 30 seconds.

A cold boot should bring it back to life. This worked for me. I didn't reset, no auto either.

Or you can just wait for the next build(s). So far I see a couple pppd fixes.

Guys, did anyone try it on WR1043ND v1.x? I'm having a hard time finding the latest stable version for this model, since they apparently do not recommend using the router database. I don't know if there is any alternative method to find out. Someone could help me? Thanks!

Router/Version: Netgear R9000
Mode: DHCP, AP, AP isolation, Net Isolation, VAPs, WPA3 Enteprise, WPA3 Enterprise Suite B 192 bit, OpenVPN Client, OpenVPN Server, PBR, WPA2 Enterprise w/ SHA256, FreeRadius, 1Gbps ISP WAN + 4G LTE fail-over
File: DD-WRT v3.0-r42460 std (02/20/20)
Kernel: Linux 4.9.214 #519 SMP Sat Feb 15 05:17:49 +03 2020 armv7l
Status: Initial hiccups but 100% functional Now

Fwiw my R9000 became responsive around the 30 minute mark since boot. At first, I thought it was a soft brick and proceeded to downgrade to r42410 via tftp to stock route.

After stupidly opening a pointless ticket during a head-scratching moment, I proceed to upgrade again to the latest build (r42460). All is well now.

The rest of the router models in my fleet took r42460 very well (About 120 routers) so I’d say its an overall solid build. Noticed slightly decreased boot times and lower CPU utilization in general use too.

specifically the problems started after Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r41686 std (12/10/19)

since rolling back to it solves all the problems, and there is an autostart of the command, and the problem with openvpn routing is solved, and the clients connect normally.

Thanks for mentioning this as I have been wondering if I should have waited longer than 10 for the first reboot after flash.

But honestly I would have given up after 15-20 minutes. It just doesn't seem right to me, considering my channels are set.

It shouldn't be so intensive to the point that many are fooled into thinking the build is bad (it's not).

I'm guessing it needs to build some sort of database, a one-time process hopefully?

Cold boot after 10 worked for me (EA8500).

I have only upgraded one of my devices so far for some longer term testing for the High CPU load issue, however in the meantime I have noticed the max power level is wrong now. I have a TP-Link TL-WR741ND v4 and the wireless TX power level is set to default int value of 20, which in previous builds meant the device would find the highest power level it was capable of, in this case 18dbm. However, the system info and wireless status pages are showing the power level at 16 dbm. Even when I set the wifi TX power int value from 20 to 18 it still doesn't take and system info and wireless status pages still show 16dbm.

Which country is your regulatory domain set to in wireless basic settings (first interface with advanced settings checked)?

What are your channel settings? Have any of these changed from the previous build?
