I have a problem with tl-wr841nv5 after the update. I was using dd-wrt2016

https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2016/12-15-2016-r30949/tplink_tl-wr841ndv5

I have updated it to dd-wrt 2019.

https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2019/08-06-2019-r40559/tplink_tl-wr841ndv5

I face a problem when I ask for going back
When choosing back to dd-wrt 2016 file, it doesn't work. I chose tplink original file and it doesn't work. I attached a video about the problem.

The router database (and not the forum) claims another victim. Don't use the router database, it is still junk.

You may have the best luck with the latest released build:

DON'T use Chromium-based browsersRTFM/STFW - TL;DR is NOT an excuse. • Why Should I Care What Color the Bikeshed Is?

Ok, I must've misunderstood. You are trying to revert back to stock firmware? Maybe this will help on the procedure to revert to stock:

https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=320793

I know there are some unusual methods involved with TP-Link routers in general. Like having to rename the stock firmware file and such.

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/81462

https://milankragujevic.com/restore-a-bricked-tp-link-router-with-tftp

^^^ this may also help, but keep in mind, you have to use your router model in renaming the file to ****recovery.bin for TFTP recovery.

Also, if you are trying to upgrade via webUI and it fails, you may have to install via ssh/CLI:

Reboot your router.

Telnet/SSH to 192.168.1.1 with username root and your password.

cd /tmp

wget http://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2016/12-15-2016-r30949/tplink_tl-wr841ndv5/tl-wr841ndv5-webflash.bin

write tl-wr841ndv5-webflash.bin linux

reboot

Please take note I used http only and not https!
