Hello all,

I have only wireless internet where I live. Now, I have a GL-iNET-GL-MT300N V1 router getting the internet from wireless to ethernet plus a switch connecting my raspberry-pi and a TV to the internet. However, it get only 2.4 ghz wireless connections and it is a little bit slow.

I got a TP-LINK AC1750 Archer C8 V1 and installed DD-WRT build 42054 to try get the wireless 5G to my devices and get rid of the switch.

I'm trying to get it working for 4 days now and didn't get success trying to make it work like the old router.

I wish to connect to the 5G wireless network and have a network in the ethernet ports with IP 192.168.8.x. My wireless connection have DHCP and gives IPs at 192.168.0.x.

I've tried the client and the router configurations, but the C8 never gets a WAN IP. I can connect and see the browser at 192.168.8.x but it never gives me a internet connection.

If a change to Client bridge or repeater bridge it gives me internet, but with IPs at 192.168.0.x

Why the client/repeater without the bridge is not getting an WLAN ip ?

I disabled the WL0 and used only WL1 with mixed and 5G-Only, without success. I've tried with mixed and didn't work too.

My last test was downgrade the DD-WRT to version 39956, because I read in a post that someone fixed it by downgrading the version. Still didn't work for me.

Is there any kind of troubleshooting I can do to fix this ?

I need a different router for this to work ?

In the ifconfig I have:
