dd-wrt AP has been working flawlessly as an AP for two years. It's running as an "AP" (there isn't a Router mode available in wireless mode), DHCP server is disabled, and the firewall is off. So not the issue in that regard.
@Wildlion
Ok- So if I ping from my laptop on a cmd prompt, I can trace the traffic on ICMP. If I ping from the switch, I have to trace the ping using ICMPv6....
Yes, it's running as a "router" in that regard. I'd be happy to send the config to you if you'd like. It responds to pings from my laptop and one of my managed switches, but it doesn't respond to pings from the Ubiquiti Network Management System (Cloud interface).
The ubiquiti cloud management service (UNMS) allows for cloud management of enterprise-level systems- I can have sites, numerous LANs, etc etc.
Anyway, the service says that the dd-wrt routers on my network are offline (using a "ping" service). Well the routers are not offline...so we've been trying to figure out why they won't reply to the ping from UNMS.

Ok, why are you trying to use UNMS with non-Ubiquiti equipment... sounds like you are over-complicating things. Not to mention, the Ubiquiti network controller now interfaces with UNMS-capable equipment, and you don't need to use UNMS. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Because most of my APs are not ubiquiti and the ability to manage it anywhere I have internet is pretty crucial- people rely on my keeping the network running and a network down is a bit of a problem.

UNMS doesn't talk to DD-WRT to 'manage' it, nor does the Ubiquiti Network controller, per se, but I understand the situation. I don't see why it's not responding to pings in router mode, unless that is part of the default firewall that doesn't turn off. What was your output of iptables -vnL on the router/AP in question? _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Ok, just for sake of ruling out anything, when you disabled the firewall, did you un-check ALL the default options (except for filter multicast, if I am not mistaken)? If I recall right, if you leave anything checked when you disable the firewall, it may cause issues. I don't see anything there that will not allow it to respond, but I would rule out some weird voodoo as suggested to see if that affects it. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
