I have a TP-Link Archer C7 v2. I decided to try Gargoyle on it, worked fine. But it wasn't for me. I decided I'd rather run dd-wrt. I downloaded a stripped version of the firmware from https://www.friedzombie.com/tplink-stripped-firmware/.

File name:Archer-C7-V2-FW0.0.3-stripped.bin

Everything seemed to work/install normally. When the router rebooted I got a tp-link login at 192.168.0.1, however the default admin admin password doesn't work. Both default wireless network are also "secured" secured with and unknown password and I can't get into the router at all.

Has anyone seen this before? Any advice would be appreciated. I tried to tftp a new firmware but it seems locked or something. The firmware will download and router reboots. But the same tplink login.

Hit the reset button?

Sometimes there is a password on the bottom of the router.

Unfortunately that's the first thing I tried. Tried password under the router. Tried using the WPS pin. Tried a 8s reset. Tried a 30-30-30.

This is the first time I used firmware from that website. Wondering if its just bad firmware, but I can't seem to install anything else over it.

Hrmm so other firmwares did not install but I was able to install lede with TFTP. From lede I was able to install dd-wrt r41954. But this dd-wrt version is completely unstable for me. Any type I hit the "apply" button for a setting change, the router crashes until I do a 30-30-30.

I'm not able to change any settings and I'm not able to upload a new firmware via the web interface cause that just crashes. clicking reboot in the web interface crashes also

On top of that TFTP doesn't seem to upload firmware using the same procedure I did before. I've tried using the ips 192.168.1.66 and 192.168.0.66 and holding the wps/reset button while powering on.

Any suggested ways I can downgrade to an earlier version of dd-wrt given the buggy web interface?
