r7800 latency is on par with kong builds, but the cpu usage for sirq on wifi interfaces is still broken and over 3x higher than kong builds and BS k3.18 builds..
kong r40720m firewall/qos/nat disabled, 5ghz sirq cpu load @ 320mbps:
core0: 15%
core1: 3%
ANY k4.x bs build firewall/qos/nat disabled, 5ghz sirq cpu load @ 320mbps:
core0: 60%
core1: 40%
if the r7800 was doing nat+qos, it still would be choking at these speeds from not enough cpu free.. keep the latency the same and fix the cpu usage, this will be finally 100% fixed for the first time..
STILL FORCED DISABLED HOSTAPD SYSLOG EVEN ON ROUTERS WITH BIG FLASH _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

Router Model TP-Link WR1043ND V2
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r41786 std (12/23/19)
Kernel Version Linux 3.18.140 #63518 Mon Dec 23 04:58:21 +04 2019 mips...
update: CLI 4141659 > 41786
reset: NO
status: Operational 3h+
errors: Stubby is broken if using a VPN, i guess it will be the same for DNScrypt....over VPN...
I guess those rules should have a rule to allow a local DNS resolver running on 127.0.0.1 to pass trough, sadly this smell like a compromise as it has to go out via port 853 or 443 tcp and locally it uses everything above port 1024...so the situation is bad...with this update, no VPN fun for now...
I dont have a time to experiment this days, will report if i find anything else... _________________ Atheros

ovpn or wg?
loacal DNS working fine here, but I'm using WireGuard not OpenVPN...
I have only added:
Code:
interface=oet1
in DNSMasq additional directives...
p.s.
local hostnames resolved normally as well...
Yep im on VPN and i already have interface=tun1 and that's how its working now...
...thank's for the info anyway...!!!
its just too sketchy to turn it on/off, from the router side now...and i guess there will be more VPN fiddling to come.... _________________ Atheros

Similar wifi problem - unknown channel, no connection with WPA/WPA2 PSK security mode. Open/WEP is working. Last working version 41686.
Router model: TP-Link - TL-WR1043ND v1.8 - Atheros 9132
Reset: no
Status: Everything working well so far...
Status Update: I had to power reset it twice in about 12 hours because it stopped responding... it kept hanged up with every LEDs off except the power one.
I am just testing this build on this date because I do not dare to try a later one until I make sure that my router is not going to get bricked...
If anyone knows of a later build that works for this router model, I will be grateful.
