I'm afraid to ask what your wireless settings are.

Pretty much all defaults. If this screenshot uploads, take a look.

"Mixed" is a bad idea. Doesn't always work well.

https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Advanced_wireless_settings

I am not sure the wl2 even works on that one, someone else who knows can chime in.

I'll have to look at these, but this is the exact way it was always setup before I updated and they worked just fine. I'm hoping that updating to this version didn't do something to kill the wireless.

I have just tried "mixed" on 2,4 Ghz (Netgear r6300v2) and devices are not able to connect

My devices connect just fine, but the speeds are completely messed up. I have Gigabit speeds, and the R8000 totes 3200mb wireless speeds, and I'm getting about 5mbps on the 2.4 band and only like 25 on the 5 band. Anyone else have any ideas? Should I make a separate post for this?

I forget, so I will ask out in the open. Isn't the R8000 one of the ones that the 3rd radio doesn't even work on in DD-WRT? Opening another thread about an issue that there's probably already at least one, if not five threads out there about.... sure, why not. I'm not going to glean the forum for every post about the device to post links for you. Feel free to do some research.

Router Model Asus RT-AC3100
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r41468 std (11/06/19)
Kernel Version Linux 4.4.199-rc1 #214 SMP Wed Nov 6 08:09:49 +04 2019 armv7l

I upgraded to 41686 using standard asus_rt-ac3100-firmware.trx firmware. All seemed normal but now 5 GHz will not accept new connections after 2 days. Reboot cleared the issue for 2 days but returned. Backed off to 41468 which was working without error. Yes, GTK is at default of 3600. 2.4 and 5 GHz are set for limited Mixed (G, N, AC only). VHT80 on 5 GHz.

Router/Version: Linksys WRT54GS v1.1
File: dd-wrt.v24_mini_generic.bin (it's possible it was "dd-wrt.v24_mini_wrt54gs.bin")
Firmware: r41686 (Dec 10th 2019)
Mode: AP
Reset: Yes (I held reset button for 30+ seconds after flashing this firmware and then manually configured the router to my liking)

I figured I would mention one small issue that I noticed after running I think it was 8 days with this firmware. it seems the section that shows the lease time which renews after 7 days, I noticed when it reached the full 7 days(like how it counts down), the counter did not renew like usual and was just zero's there basically (like it ran out of time). but... the router still seemed to function like normal as far as I could tell. I just thought I would mention it.

EDIT: it appears this DHCP WAN renewal is a known bug and is not likely to be fixed anytime soon. so if anyone has issues with DD-WRT in that regard they might have to switch to another firmware like FreshTomato etc to resolve it.
