Hi all

i have a Asus RT-AC66U router.

I am after a stable, functional version of DD-WRT to use on the device. I tried the last two beta builds but they suffer from a seemingly well known problem with the rejection of credentials for wireless devices. I moved to build *41379*, which someone on the board suggested might be the last build not to suffer from the problem. However, that build seemed to give me at least one random disconnect. So I am still looking for a good build; hence my question.

Thanks.

I have used all builds up to 41586 without any issues.

You mean the MIPSEL based A1 of the RT-AC66U and not the dual core B version?

Thanks for the reply / enquiry. I do indeed mean the single core version.

You can overclock it to 662 Mhz to get most speed out of it.

Do not use Nvram erase, it will make the 5Ghz interface non functional and appear as 2.4Ghz in the GUI. Only reset in the GUI. If that happens, you have to flash a build from 2017. Then reset and flash latest build without a reset.

Thanks.

Yet here I am, as said, having the problem on builds >= 41379. My current build, more fully specified is: DD-WRT v3.0-r41379 giga (10/24/19).

PS: I have not had the problems you mention (I don't think) and I am already doing a slight overclock.

If GTK is not set to 0, you're going to have problems. That issue is still not fixed. You shouldn't be having issues authenticating otherwise, unless you have a misconfiguration issue.

I have not and will not set GTK to 0. For, it is bad security. I seek a build that pre-dates the problem. To make myself totally clear: I want a build that is generally decent and does not have the authentication problem.

You could do some more searching. Or see: https://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/6310

Try 35531; if you still have issues try 33772....and let us know. Cool

It would be great if the problem was fixed. I guess I need to start close-open cycling that one ticket until someone figures out that it's broken still.

Build 3551 - the one I was trying, most recently - has disconnection/authnetication issues. I must say I am sick of all this. It does not make FOSS look good.

You are welcome to try 41664, the re-key and authentication issues *should* be fixed, but YMMV. Mixed reviews so far: https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=322304

Yes, I had just seen the thread. Thanks. And . . I've flashed it. It works, for the moment . . Report (such as it is) here.
