Hi there
I have a linksys wrt acm3200 router where i installed the dd-wrt firmware on. But now i cant connect to the router. It broadcasts the wifi name, but i cant get a connection. I tried via R45 as well, but no luck. I have read about the hard reset 30/30/30 and tried that as well, but still no luck. I did some reading about ssh, but i cant get it working. Im on a mac if that helps with clearing up what to do. So is there any way of forcing a new firmware install on my router, maybe via USB or something else ?
does it broadcast a SSID similar to "DD-WRT" or still something like "Linksys XYZ"?
For the latter: The flash failed / the device booted from the second partition.
This will make it boot from the other partition (source):
Quote:
Power Cycle the router three times.
Using the router’s power switch – turn OFF then turn back ON.
Wait 2 seconds then turn OFF.
Turn back ON.
Wait 2 seconds then turn OFF.
Turn back ON.
Router should have booted into opposite partition
Also Linksys firmware detects possible ip address problems and changes its own IP to something in a 10.X.X.X subnet if another device was found with identical address.
If it broadcasts a SSID similar to "DD-WRT":
the reset button should solve the problem.
DO NOT DO a 30/30/30 reset, as it might do more harm than good to your device.
i know it has two partitions but one of them seems broken..
im now in connection with the router and i would lik to get it back to stock firmware from Linksys, but the img file from Linksys failed. so im trying to get directions on my next move

If both partitions are DD-WRT, and you can't flash any stock linksys images, I think you're pretty much stuck having to do a serial recovery because tftp may or may not work. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

I'm not copying and pasting already-written wiki articles or forum threads. Google serial recovery dd-wrt, tftp flash dd-wrt, and wrt3200acm serial recovery. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Everything I looked up, including OpenWRT pretty much said serial recovery is probably the only way that will work, so you will need a serial cable. The 'bad' partition should still be able to be flashed with at least DD-WRT, but anything past that point, if you can't find any linksys stock factory firmware from current to the oldest off of linksys website (if they even link anything but current firmware version), then your only option to me looks to be serial recovery, depending on how recent a version of DD-WRT you flashed... but I could be wrong:
