I just updated the CFE on my old, old RT-N66U router.

I updated from version 1.0.1.2 to version 1.0.1.9, following the instructions in this post:
https://www.snbforums.com/threads/cfe-bootloader-update.8259/

That is: I was doing the CFE upgrade while John's merlin fork was running on my RT-N66U
( https://www.snbforums.com/threads/fork-asuswrt-merlin-374-43-lts-releases-v39e3.18914/ )

I then did a reset to factory defaults, using the reset button (holding it pressed for over 5 seconds, until the power LED started blinking).

And everything seems to be working just fine.

The 'Tools -> Sysinfo' tab, reports 1.0.1.9 so I hope this is correct.

Now, on to test DD-WRT r40559

Hi everyone. Since it's related to RT-N66U and since I'm not sure if it's a bug or an overlooked feature, I'm gonna post here.

I'm using DD-WRT v3.0-r40559 big (08/06/19) on my RT-N66U with CFE v1.0.1.4 - everything seems to work fine except of one weird issue: often I see that valid outgoing requests (like https or imap) are dropped (see attached image) and as result data is not loading on an in-network devices for the first few minutes, as if "there is no internet". At some point requests succeed, but I'm not sure why this blocking occurs - it may be a bug, but also may be that I missed something and say did not disable a sophisticated filter in the Firewall...

If it's not a known behavior, I will most likely just update to the latest 41517 build... Just not doing it until I know for sure it's not a setting thing.

Thank you very much in advance.

After upgrading to the lattest build (41586big) I was getting 100 Mbps (ISP limited) upload, 60 Mbps download.

With previous version I had the same. After changing wireless-wl1-wireless-wl1-wireless channel to 136 I get 100/100 (ISP limited).

It was auto previously. I read that lower channels may have 20MHz bandwith for download due to country regulations

Hi guys,
please can anyone recommend me any "stable" build for N66U or should I just flash the latest? I would like to use N66U as an AP (connected to main router via Ethernet) and set the isolated guest wifi on different subnet. I'm currently running John's fork and I am afraid this setting is not possible.
Many thanks.

Edit: The VAP issue I mentioned is specific to WDS, Client Bridge or Client Mode so you should be fine.

https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2020/

Some notable builds are r41813, r41954, r42054, r42335, r42460, r42617, r42729 and r42819.

Search for feedback from the various build threads from others with RT-N66U.

Tcpdump does not work on builds after 42460.

Did you mean to say r42819? r42813 was a pulled build (removed).

I assume you flashed this file.

42, 41, what's the difference? Rolling Eyes Sorry, I needed more Lightning Bolt Energy Drink this morning.

r41813 is a good build. No need to clarify, KP69, as esco1 already did.

Keep in mind the mega file you chose is a little over 7.5MB, while the big file is 28MB. The mega file is missing features.

dd-wrt.v24-41813_NEWD-2_K3.x-big-RT-N66U.trx
