Are you currently in venom environment or dd-wrt?

You'll need a cable something like these.

What does the output of this command say?

cat /proc/mtd

mtd -e linux -r write flat-FW_WRT32X_1.0.180404.58.img linu
x2
Unlocking linux ...
Erasing linux ...

Skipping bad block at 0x300000 Unlocking linux2 ...

Writing from flat-FW_WRT32X_1.0.180404.58.img to linux2 ...

linux (mtd5) and linux2 (mtd7) are the alias in DD-WRT environment. kernel1 (mtd5) and kernel2 (mtd7) are the alias for OpenWRT/Venom environment.

It appears you erased the first partition and wrote to the second. It's really important you get these commands right before pressing enter; sorry to say that after the fact but it's true. Assuming you were up and running on the second partition, you should have erased and written to the first partition (linux) only in order to keep your second functioning partition intact as a fallback.

DD-WRT partition commands look like this:

ubootenv get boot_part

ubootenv set boot_part 1 (or 2)

Please please don't make a cable; you want something verified to work correctly for WRT routers and I gave you two with chipset and drivers that are known to work for WRT series routers (see reviews). The pin connectors may be a little large but they can be replaced or more easily wedged on at a slight angle to ensure contact.

Edit: The Adafruit will work fine and after reading some reviews I would trust it over the JBtek (quality control). The TX/RX pins are 3.3v on Adafruit, just don't use the 5V power pin.

For now all I can recommend is do a factory reset and then let the router sit for a while and hope one of the partitions eventually boots with web interface (GUI) or telnet access. Maybe try the triple power cycle method to force a partition swap.

Get the cable.

Hi,

I looked at all my notes and screenshots looks like Lynksys sent me a modded firmware "Refresbished" I also noted that the hard reset did not work from day one and I tried to do a firmware update from Lynksyss since day one and it would crash the router. I was setup for failure from the get go but clearly mad things worse and pressing enter like a dummy.

waiting for the cable the one i made looked fine , even made a sound when i powered it on but never showed data. I could not find instructions on there for the process I had to go to Utube :/

Thanks for your help stay tuned.
