Dear all,
when I bought this device a few months ago (main purpose Wifi), my first intention was to disable the WAN and Power LED.
So I issued the following startup commands:
Since no LAN ports are used (connected via WAN) and Wifi devices are in flightmode during night, my flat wasn't lit anymore.
BUT every midnight, exact 0:00 the Power LED enables itself again...
So I set keep alive reboot for 0:02, to ensure everything being dark during night.
BUT every ~20th reboot, the Power LED enables itself during the first hour after reboot, resulting in a white LED illuminating my ceiling...
Currently on r41174 but observed it with all older releases, too.
Nothing to be seen in Syslog and Kernellog :(
I don't have the answer (especially since my power LED is burned out), but perhaps one clue. I found that issuing similar commands from the GUI command line for the other LEDs (including SATA on similar gpio) on my WRT1900ACS (v1) (currently running r45891) only lasted until the next reboot. That is, mine got reset every single reboot (not just every 20th or so). On which chip and/or partition are these variables stored? _________________ My DD-WRT Routers:

@o2bad445:
I stored those commands in commands --> startup.
They are set each and every time the unit reboots.
No idea if the LED still enables itself every x reboot or during midnight, got fed up with its LEDs and solved the issue with black tape a year ago
Oh, that makes sense! I actually thought my left four (power, wan, 2.4g, 5g) white LEDs were completely burned out, but finally noticed in complete darkness that they're actaully just very dim. There's a slight increase in luminance (same as for the good ones) when switching between 0-brightness and 1-brightness, but no further increase between 1-brightness and 255-brightness! I've ordered new blue LEDs to replace at least the wifi white ones, and will probably end up replacing all and then adjusting brightnesses for night use. So I'll eventually post up if the midnight gremlin's still in there! _________________ My DD-WRT Routers:
