Literally I am not sure if they posted the wrong firmware.
The router keeps rebooting.
LED on the top dont work
Wifi sticks to dd-wrt open
wifi keeps disconnecting
and it erases all the settings.
I noticed this these problematic updates are 15mb while more stable ones are 14mb.
I resorted back to the 10-10-2018 update.
So, are most people using the 39296 (March 27, 2019) build? Any downsides to this? I have the DIR-882, so I'd love for the NAS and network printing features to work. The August builds I first tried were awful. I couldn't even get wireless security working right for the brief moments I could connect.

I just flashed the latest official release 41027 on my Dir-882 and BS seems to downgrade the WLAN-router to just a router
No wireless settings are available in the web-config, no standard wifi "dd-wrt" while scanning wireless networks, no wireless interface is visable at ifconfig. dmesg tell me an error while loading the mt7615 firmware.
Maybe the right consequence at the moment and hopefully not the last stage of the feasible.

Since March I feel like a member of the forgotten tribe of DD-WRT. Will we ever be brought in from the wilderness?
I don't think we can blame BrainSlayer in this case. Basically the MediaTek mt7615 drivers need fixes so that they will work with the new kernel used by DDWRT.
The good thing is that the mt7615 drivers are constantly being worked on and we might even see Dir-882 and Dir-878 supported by OpenWRT in the near future:

Looks like the build of DIR-882 is almost identical to my Nighthawk R7450. I've been looking for a halfway decent alt. firmware for this device for a long time. Should I try to flash the 882 DD-WRT onto the R7450?
Don't hold back just give it to me straight Doc.

No. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.
I'm actually using a Motorola MR2600 (AC2600) which is supposed to have the same specs as the D-LINK DIR-882. I noticed that after I reverted back to the factory firmware, all my previous settings were still present. I'm guessing this was stored in the NVRAM which wasn't cleared out. Could the router be acting unstably because the NVRAM wasn't cleared?

That's possible. The other possibility is the by-product of flashing a firmware that is not 100% specifically for your router. This is why you have to reset after flashing DD-WRT using the appropriate method for your router. This doesn't necessarily mean a 30/30/30, as that is usually for older WRT54* type routers. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
