All good ...and it didn't even require a power cycle this time as it did when installed r40890 ---
using the exact same Linux machine, same Chromium browser, same everything
dir-615c1: Web flash fails. Unit reboots early and stays on previous version of the FW.
Version r40890 had the same problem (unable to flash) on dir615c1.

same here on TL-WR841NDv12. flash of r40900 over r40890 (web-gui) fails. unit stays on r40890

I want to upgrade my TPlink router WD841N v9 from r40890 to r40900. Router is alive and works. However after choosing the proper upgrade file and clicking on UPGRADE nothing happens, message "UPGRADING ..." stays there for ever.
I've tried another WR841N v9 router and noticed this problem still exists with version r40900. Furthermore it appears that the SAVE and APPLY button do not work properly.
I guess updating from ssh is not possible if you're on 40890 on TPLINK WR841ND-V9
mtd -r write tl-wr841nd-webflash.bin linux
Unlocking linux ...
Could not unlock MTD device: linux
linux: Not supported
Writing from tl-wr841nd-webflash.bin to linux ... [e]Erasing mtd failed: linux
potentially TFTP is the last solution we have left anyone else have a different work around?
Just flashed the firmware on my device, now, I'm testing the random reboot issue, which i've been suffering from since the build no r40723 _________________ Routers:

hmmm, i just did it on my 1043v2, it always works, but there are other ways to flash via CLI too, use the following steps via ssh...if this is not working there is another way if so...
1. cd /tmp
2. wget ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2019/09-04-2019-r40900/tplink_tl-wr841ndv9/tl-wr841nd-webflash.bin
3. write tplink_tl-wr1043nd-v2.bin linux
4. reboot _________________ Atheros

Stubby DNS over TLS I DNSCrypt v2 by mac913
TPLink WR841ND v11
Working good on this firmware.
Updated via telnet from r40890.
Reset: no.
I update regularly via telnet for 6-7 months now, wirelesly, since I don't have any device connected to LAN. I had no ideea there might be problems updating via Web UI.
The only odd thing I noticed: on previous firmware (r40890) after I reset it to factory settings I encountered a saturated eye piercing blue color on buttons and tabs. It turned out the default theme on Web UI changed from "Elegant" to "Blue". I changed it back to Elegant and that was it.
Builds from r40723 to r40900 are considered bad firmwares on TP-Link Archer C7 v2, because of enabling QoS settings will cause random reboots, and make the router unusable.I hope someone would create a ticket for that _________________ Routers:
