Please identify your specific router model. _________________ 2x Netgear XR500 and 3x Linksys WRT1900ACSv2 on 53544: VLANs, VAPs, NAS, station mode, OpenVPN client (AirVPN), wireguard server (AirVPN port forward) and clients (AzireVPN, AirVPN, private), 3 DNSCrypt providers via VPN.
OpenVPN CLIENT works fine (nordvpn server)
5GHz wpa2 CCMP-128 (AES)working fine 20MHz Mixed
2.4GHz wpa2 CCMP-128 (AES)working fine 20MHz Mixed
NAS via USB Samba also working fine
*** I'm carefully making these statements. I've been up for about 30 mins, no problem noticed on my 3200acm. As stated above, those 4 functions are working fine on my router so far.

cannot switch partition with reset button
The reset button does not switch partitions. It just resets the nvram config space back to the default dd-wrt condition. You need to try the three power-switch cycles to switch partitions. Reports of how to do this vary, but here's what has worked for me. Get this procedure clearly in your mind before you start, because timing matters.
Let "Cycle Power" in the "code" (your fingers are the "processor") below mean this: turn power off, wait 2 seconds, turn power on, and look for power light to go on. The actual procedure to try then looks like this:
Code:
Cycle Power.
Repeat three times:
when the power light starts to blink (happens very soon), immediately Cycle Power.
The key is to count power-on steps. Stop after the fourth power on.
Good luck. Looks like a scary situation. _________________ 2x Netgear XR500 and 3x Linksys WRT1900ACSv2 on 53544: VLANs, VAPs, NAS, station mode, OpenVPN client (AirVPN), wireguard server (AirVPN port forward) and clients (AzireVPN, AirVPN, private), 3 DNSCrypt providers via VPN.
It doesn't work! I tried it several times.
Any other suggestion?

only eSata and connected ethernet cable comes on for a second. After that reboot.
Wow. You are definitely beyond my limited expertise. I gather that for some dd-wrt routers there's some sort of serial-cable routine for extreme emergencies like this. I have no idea whether such a thing exists for the WRT... routers. Anyone? Other ideas?
Someone who knows how to needs to ask BS to remove this build (for the WRT routers) from the download sites. It's too dangerous to have posted. _________________ 2x Netgear XR500 and 3x Linksys WRT1900ACSv2 on 53544: VLANs, VAPs, NAS, station mode, OpenVPN client (AirVPN), wireguard server (AirVPN port forward) and clients (AzireVPN, AirVPN, private), 3 DNSCrypt providers via VPN.

I guess all here can see why aiming quickly for the very latest release is not really a good plan. I always wait for the new-build thread to settle down and show me that others with my WRT model are having success. That pretty much means I have never used the latest build. Sometimes old is good. (Even so, I've had my share of panic-inducing screwups.)
I really, really don't mean to be cruel to those of you suffering the miserable stress of this. Just rattling the cages of anyone else watching, esp newbies who haven't sorted out their procedures yet, re an important thing to be aware of. I can remember when I started that I really resented the suggestion that I give up my time to watch new-build threads and the marvell forum in general. I wanted action! But dd-wrt pretty much requires you to become a router hobbyist, as to skim a couple of online posts and go for it is to risk disaster.
And this is clearly the worst release disaster I've seen for our WRT routers, which have always been thought to be unbrickable. I guess the results of the TTL experiment (do any electronics still use TTL interfaces?) will settle the question. _________________ 2x Netgear XR500 and 3x Linksys WRT1900ACSv2 on 53544: VLANs, VAPs, NAS, station mode, OpenVPN client (AirVPN), wireguard server (AirVPN port forward) and clients (AzireVPN, AirVPN, private), 3 DNSCrypt providers via VPN.
I have had to recover my WRT1900ACSv2 router twice. What I found was I had to alter the video instructions slightly...Here are my specific instructions I have used to reflash both images back to Linksys stock firmware. I have found the ADAFRUIT cable works best. If you order one
of the Prolific Pirated chipset cables MS has blocked those from working in Windows 10 but there is a hack you can search for to get those working...Best to buy the ADAFRUIT to avoid further complications.

WRT1900ACS V2 ROUTER RESCUE
RENAME STOCK LINKSYS FIRMWARE to linksys.img
(This is for ease of installation).
Set NIC to 192.168.1.2
PUTTY SET TO COM(Port Number in Device Manager), Speed 115200
COMMANDS in PUTTY
setenv firmwareName linksys.img
setenv ipaddr 192.168.1.1
setenv netmask 255.255.255.0
setenv serverip 192.168.1.2
run update_both_images
TFTPD32
Select Folder with image file (Ex. C:\FTP)
Make sure to select NIC intfc. before flashing both images.
**DISABLE ALL FIREWALLS BEFORE UPDATING IMAGES**
You may have to hold the connections securely on the router (Make sure you have them connected per this video)...
As I have better things to do today I'll trust the posters that this firmware is a DUD and sit this out. I'll post in Bugtracker other's findings. _________________ WRT1900ACSv2

I congratulate the idiot who build and put this release here!
Well, as there is only one main developer and build compiler and release poster, feel free to go tell him. Need his email address? It's not me, because if it were, you wouldn't like my response, I guarantee it.
Edit: Belated discovery -- these are all exactly divisible by 1024. So this release's size is 39684 1K blocks, while the previous 13 releases' sizes were 39556 1K blocks. The increase was 128 blocks or barely over 0.3 percent, but that was enough to do us in.
So perhaps we now know what happens when one attempts to flash a too-large release into partition one. _________________ 2x Netgear XR500 and 3x Linksys WRT1900ACSv2 on 53544: VLANs, VAPs, NAS, station mode, OpenVPN client (AirVPN), wireguard server (AirVPN port forward) and clients (AzireVPN, AirVPN, private), 3 DNSCrypt providers via VPN.
