Hello guys, could you please recommend ac1200 dualband router? I have tried crawling through supported routers but had no luck finding any available in europe for a decent price (<80€). Are all these 50-60€ routers based on mediatek chips? My Airlive is performing really bad as a client on 5GHz, because it only uses 20MHz band. I believe any alternate firmware would squeeze much more out of it, sadly there are no fw available for these MT stuff...
Hi, maybe a Linksys EA8500, stable, dual core@1.4ghz, 4x4 streams and 128m flash/512m RAM....very good price con eBay.
Supported by kong(ddwrt-openwrt) and brainslayer. _________________ Anger Is A Gift

1st R7800 Wifi 5 Wave 2
2nd EA8500 Wifi 5 Wave 1 (this one could be a bitch to get dd-wrt running if the firmware is too new from linksys, then you need to serial tftp it. Means you may have to solder pins on...I suggest going the R7800 route)
3rd Archer A7v5 Wifi 5 Wave 1 (This one is super cheap and only good for 150mbps ISP speeds) _________________ FORUM RULES
for low price AC1200 device look for 2nd hand ASUS rt-AC56U ... decent device, slick design , almost impossible to brick and goes for 20-40 Euro in europe ...
another cheap ac1750 would be the dlink DIR868L , these go also for 20-30€ on average ...
ea8500 is quite rare in europe and expensive too, you see this devices very rarely for less than 100€ , R7800 is on average more expensive, about 120-150€ 2nd hand ...
