best wishes

from his site
http://www.desipro.de/dd-wrt/Notice.txt

As you may have noticed I have not been able to follow dd-wrt development for a few weeks now.
Due to changes in life I don't have time anymore to continue compile/test/publish any custom builds anymore.
It is simply to time consuming, especially since I moved to openwrt.

It's been a fun time, but now it is time to move on.

I've been expecting this for a while. Ever since his OpenWRT development leaked into this forum. Is it another prank, or not, who knows. Only time will tell.

Thanks Kong. I've pretty much only used Kong builds and they were stable and reliable for me.

What features were Kong specific? Automatic/easy updates with ddup? Built-in privoxy support?

What's a logical path for ex-Kong build users? Hopefully not follow him to openwrt...

Kong,
if you’re reading this, I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude for your development on DD-WRT. I have been using DD-WRT since I was a teenager, and your build has powered my R7000 (now R7000p) reliably and securely for something like 5 or 6 years.

Maybe I’ll follow you over to OpenWRT, but I prefer DD-Wrt because I’ve been using it for 10+ years.

I would also Like to thank Kong, and wish him the best, he and BS helped me a lot when I first got into DD-WRT!

I registered to comment here! Best of luck in the future, thanks for being my entry to DD-WRT! Although admittedly, I flashed in early July (having finally recently moved into my own place) and while you were honestly a huge pain in the butt due to connection issues, I appreciate all that you made me learn through all the issues I encountered (genuinely mean that, I don't know how to make it not sound sarcastic if it does).

However, fear not my fellow R6900P/R7000P havers. My girlfriend is working from home, but from my apartment, on Friday, and since I work a night shift I couldn't have the possibility of WAN dropping and the router restarting while I was asleep. She wouldn't be able to fix it without waking me. So I took the plunge, and I'm happy to report the 8/06 Kong build can be flashed to the 8/25 BS build through "Firmware Upgrade" with "After flashing, reset to Don't reset" selected.
Not only have I found no discernable issues from doing this, and all of my applicable settings carried over, the BS build has been SIGNIFICANTLY more stable for me in the last 24 hours than the Kong build was.

Sorry optware users. Looks like entware is the future.

Can someone who knows more than me tell me if there are any settings I should manually disable, having changed builds? I've noticed a few different/additional things in the GUI settings between the 8/25 BS and the 8/06 Kong builds, and I'm wondering if there are some settings in some config files that are going to screw me down the line if I don't completely reset NVRAM and set up from scratch.[/i]

i would just erase nvram and setup from scratch and enjoy a good sleep Very Happy

this is what i always do when i go from BS to Kong or the other way around.
