see https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=320097 for latest post of full actual issues..

ipq806x still sucks on k4.x for years. hfsc+cake on dir-862L kills wan, htb+cake works.. (slowly)

Router Model: TP-Link ARCHER-C7 v2 (QCA 9558v1 r1.0 720MHz & 9880-BR4A; 16MB/128MB)
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r40452 std (07/29/19)
Kernel: Linux 3.18.140 #48512 Mon Jul 29 05:49:28 +04 2019 mips
Status: 2.4 and 5 GHz WAPs for base router, 2.4 and 5 Guest VAPs on br1, Roku3 and Ooma VOIP on ethernet.
Reset: No
Issues: None

Router Model: Trendnet TEW824DRU (QCA 9558v1 r1.0 720MHz & 9880-BR4A; 16MB/128MB)
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r40672 std (08/16/19)
Kernel: Linux 3.18.140 #50739 Fri Aug 16 17:45:12 +04 2019 mips
Status: Home network gateway for 200+/10+ cable ISP. DHCP server and QoS. Radios Off.
Reset: No
Issues: None! Well, OK, after getting CAKE, I really shouldn't complain that the build for this router is still missing Wireguard even though the essentailly identical Archer C7 gets it, but I will anyway.

With prior release (a couple back - I can't remember which one after I flashed it): No CAKE; HTB/FQ_CODEL upload was worse than death; but HTB/SFQ worked OK if I set QoS limits at 175/7.5.

With this release and QoS limits bumped up to 180/9, I'm getting ~139/8.3 and A+ Bufferbloat with HTB/CAKE and ~146/8.3 and A+ Bufferbloat with HTB/FQ_CODEL (I averaged a couple tests each). The CAKE speed graph versus time is less choppy and more consistent for upload, but CAKE is much less consistent for the faster download test with some speed dives mid-test on the graph. Both look CPU limited, but this still seems pretty decent for a cheap 720 MHz single core MIPS backup router, considering my Edgerouter X with a dual core 880 MHz MIPS in this role gave me "only" ~186/9 running EdgeOS 2.0.6 HTB/FQ_CODEL QoS.

I haven't tried HFSC/CAKE to see if it breaks my WAN - just promised family I wouldn't "fix" the internet this afternoon, so thanks for the warning on that tatsuya46.

Router Model: Netgear R7800

Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r40672 std (08/16/19)
Kernel Version: Linux 4.9.189 #455 SMP Thu Aug 15 02:21:34 CEST 2019 armv7l

Upgraded from: DD-WRT v3.0-r40459 std (07/30/19)
Reset: No, not this time

Status: Up and running for 8 hours, basic setup as Gateway, static leases, OpenVPN client (on PIA) with Policy Based Routing up and running, 2,4GHz, 5Ghz USB storage NAS and OpenVPN server working.

Errors: Yes
1. Samba does not start at boot, have to do: stopservice samba3; startservice samba3 (If you do Save/Apply on the NAS page Samba also starts to work, but of course you loose the VPN client because the firewall is restarted and you thus loose all firewall settings of the VPN client)
2. DNS leak see: http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/6020
3. Minor problem you have to press Apply 2 times in the Services/VPN page to get the VPN client going

Resolved:
1. Pushed DNS servers from VPN provider are now used, if you do not want that, add the following to the Additional Config of the VPN client:
pull-filter ignore "dhcp-option DNS"

Otherwise build is fine

Big Thanks to the devs!

hmmm, may be a r7800 thing ....but more likely it's running over itself when starting up ---
--- too many things trying to startup at same time Shocked

I just done a reboot of the --
EA8500 switch / ovpn server / samba share ext4
WNDR3700v4 switch / ovpn server / samba share ext4
WRT160NL switch / samba share FAT32
samba comes up and works just fine on all these units.

main EA8500 uptime 1 day 17:39 still all ok and NO, he never gets rebooted unless something bad is wrong and there is NO other choice Cool

It probably is a timing thing, depending on what you else start, maybe extra things you start etc. and of course can be dependant on router (CPU Speed, Bus/Ram speed/layout etc.)

WNDR3700v4
CLI upgrade over 40634
wget ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2019/08-16-2019-r40672/netgear-wndr3700v4/wndr3700v4-webflash.bin

Bootlooped

Some combination of reset/recovery mode it finally booted.

Who knows....

bushant,
Best I remember my WNDR3700v4 had a blip when I upgraded to r40665 BS test build over r40634 recently.
I remember it required a power off for 'bout 20 seconds then all was good.
I didn't think much about it cause you just never really know whats gonna happen Twisted Evil
Hasn't been reset in long time and the GUI upgrade to r40672 over r40665 was normal.

3700v4/4300 randomly does that on any build, when it does, power cycle by switch then it boots

Not sure what caused it to finally boot this time.
Could ping it for about 5 sec before it looped.
Actually got into GUI once for a couple seconds.
Both with static IP.

Was trying to TFTP, then it mysteriously booted.
Don't really think reset button was working well.

I had that weird stuff in syslog at 40634 which cleared up after a time.
I reverted to 40443 with reset for now.

Did that a half dozen times.
It was late last night, I was beat, I parbly screwed it up somehow.

Thanks Guys.

Router Model: D-Link DIR-859 A3

problem:
Some devices (i.e. iPad) won't connect to ath1 5GHz band. Tells me that the WiFI password was invalid even though it was correct.
