Hi,
I have an older DD-WRT router I'm trying to replace with a new router.
- Old router = build 36070M (R7000)
- New router = build 40459 (R9000)

I have an external DHCP and DNS server on my main network. So Old = DHCP Server->Disabled (on Basic Setup page) but Use DNSMasq for DHCP is checked.

On the Services tab, I have Dnsmasq options
dhcp-option=wl0.1,3,192.168.2.1
dhcp-range=wl0.1,192.168.2.100,192.168.2.250,255.255.255.0,24h
dhcp-option=wl0.1,6,192.168.2.1

However, on New build 40459, there is no Use DNSMasq for DHCP checkbox anymore.

I put the same DNSMasq options into the Services tab, but they don't seem to be working. If I enable DHCP server, it screws up the old network.

Any help to offer? My goal is to have DHCP active on my guest wifi network (a virtual AP) but not on my primary network.

I am trying to look and figure this one out. I am wondering if you have to disable dhcp server on main setup page and use multiple dhcp server on networking page. When udhcpd was removed, it kinda screwed doing the configuration up a little...

Hi, thanks.

I do have Multiple DHCP server set on both. Here's the screenshot on the new one

Hmm. I would check to see if it dnsmasq is listening on that interface like it should, then.

Via telnet/ssh: cat /tmp/dnsmasq.conf and see what interface= says. I am not sure if there is a way to fix that if it only says br0. Those additional options are in the dnsmasq additional configs box, correct?

Ya know... I think this is working OK after all... Red herring, I'm sorry.

I think I have a broader routing problem in that it is not connecting to the internet at all when I plug in the WAN port. Now I'm real confused.

I did MAC address clone so Comcast thinks I still have the same router. But it's like it's not routing anything at all.

I would assume you would still need dnsmasq for dns checked and the normal dnsmasq and dns configs that work to be setup, and it also has to be in router mode, not gateway, of course. I am at a loss, otherwise.
