Hello,
I have wrt3200acm (wrt32x) that when on stock firmware performs very stable regarding speed, I posted some screenshots and tests in previous post.
Now I have it with dd-wrt (r40134) and I get speed drop every 5 seconds.
Either with all settings by default, on any radio (1, 2 or 3) or with custom settings like AC-Only, there is no difference, every 5 seconds or so there is significant speed drop (see pictures below). There is no such drop and the speed is very constant when I use the stock firmware.
Can someone please test or if know the reason to tell me what I'm missing?

It's not dd-wrt, it's mwlwifi, the driver for the Marvell 802.11ac chip

Would be nice if there were a way to fix this - makes my NAS backups take quite a bit more time! Oh well.

If the Marvell drivers are proprietary, mustn't Linksys also use them? Guess they have special privileges to avoid the issue Razz lol.

There's a very simple way to fix it...

Lol, it's my laptop so the entire point of a network backup for me is to not have to plug it in every time! Of course for my desktop I have it wired Smile.

Are we sure it's the Marvell drivers in DD-WRT, and not some sh*tty hardware and Windows 10? If it's got an Intel wireless adapter, keep the drivers updated. Speaking of that, I need to see if a newer driver has dropped again yet.

Could very well be Windows 10 or something else on the PC side - OP said that the performance changed based on the router firmware though, which would lead me to believe it's on the router side, at least in their case. My laptop has an Intel Wireless-AC 9260 160MHz, latest drivers (21.20.0.5).
