There is something wrong with FTP ?

I can log, list the files and all, but when I try to download nothing comes.

File I'm trying to download:
ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2019/07-29-2019-r40452/tplink_archer-c9v1/archer-c9v1-webflash.bin

Flashed with FF68.0.1x64. No issues. I had OpenVPN connected when I upgraded, after the reboot the settings were still on for VPN but the VPN was not connected. I rebooted again and the VPN connected but there was no DNS service. Reverted to 40134.

When I had the 7/29 version running, and DNS seemed to not work, I did a tracert:

Tracing route to dd-wrt.com [185.84.6.111]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 2248 ms <1 ms <1 ms Landi_Router.local [192.168.16.128]
2 * * * Request timed out.
3 * * * Request timed out.
4 * * * Request timed out.
5 * * * Request timed out.
6 ^C

After reverting, I did the same:

Tracing route to dd-wrt.com [185.84.6.111]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms Landi_Router.local [192.168.16.128]
2 16 ms 15 ms 15 ms 10.119.0.1
3 22 ms 14 ms 15 ms 91.fc.2bd0.ip4.static.sl-reverse.com [208.43.252.145]
4 18 ms 16 ms 15 ms ae14.dar02.wdc01.networklayer.com [208.43.118.162]
5 16 ms 17 ms 15 ms ae9.bbr02.eq01.wdc02.networklayer.com [173.192.18.188]
6 17 ms 17 ms 16 ms ae6.cbs02.eq01.wdc02.networklayer.com [50.97.17.150]
7 95 ms 99 ms 96 ms ae1.cbs01.eq01.ams02.networklayer.com [50.97.17.243]
8 104 ms 102 ms 101 ms 31.10.35a9.ip4.static.sl-reverse.com [169.53.16.49]
9 104 ms ^C

Both were with ExpressVPN on. Don't know if that is any help.

MLandi,

I'm using PIA so I can't say for sure with ExpresVPN
but I had to reboot my router and rooftop modem (WISP) shortly after doing this upgrade I lost the DNS. I rebooted everything then disabled VPN saved/Then reenabled VPN and saved...And everything came back up and has been working since. That worked for me but we're using different VPN/Equipment...Worth a try if you haven't already done so...

I am not going to try upgrading to anything higher than 40134 (37.5 MB, 39,325,696 bytes) on my wrt1900acv2. I'm concerned about bricking my unit with these bigger builds. Hard lesson learned in the past Smile

It's not like we're making any money doing it...
I just started doing it because I keep weird hours since retiring (I sleep late and stay up late). I started noticing new releases when everybody in Euro-Land was at work and everybody on the East coast was waking up...I was still awake here on Pacific time so I would post new releases...But anybody can do it that feels they want to ... We're a Meritocracy or something like that...

I was only giving a friendly nudge Rolling Eyes Cool

FWIW, Broadcom is the oldest platform supported. Adding support for all these other manufacturers makes things challenging Wink lol
