New Build: 07-04-2019-r40189

FTP download link: ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2019/07-04-2019-r40189/dlink-dir882-a1/

So I've tested this one.

Seems LED lights are meaningless.
System boots and is accessible over Wifi.

Alhough 2.4G feels very slow (and is like 5Mbps).
Wifi 5GHz is even more interesting - my computer can see it - and access seems to work - but my phone can't see this AP.

So I guess some progress is made - but not usable (at least not by me)

Thanks for the report.

I guess I'll take a break from using dd-wrt with DIR-878/882 series.

On the positive note - I'm now successfully testing Broly's builds (and he actually responses to my reports)

Can be reached from this page:

look for build: 4.14.131/40189 performs reasonably nicely.

Tried a broly release a few weeks? ago on a DIR-878; results were negative.

As a result of positive results, keeping an eye out for sales on OpenWrt supported routers now.

You might need to cleanup-up all config setting between standard dd-wrt and Broly's build.
Also the boot seems the be taking ages Smile (over 2 minutes) before WiFi gets usable.

But other than that - except couple minor issues - it's really running very well.

IMHO hw in DIR-882 is really great - and the only openwrt competitor is 2x more expensive Netgear R7800...

I also believe OpenWrt will be reality for DIR-882 some day - but current Broly's build is getting really good with 4.14 kernel...

DIR878 A1
I noticed the wireless interfaces' name are changed after upgrading and WiFi LEDs no longer work. Other than that seems it's pretty good... Hope the LED problem can be fixed soon.
