SVN Timeline:

Alternate Flash Method required for me. (tried firefox and opera)

"shahabkhan99" method
go to Administrator>Command (paste this)
1: ubootenv set boot_part 2
2: DO NOT REBOOT
3: Flash new WEBFLASH from Firmware Upgrade - DO NOT RESET.

I personally used the console to do it.
ubootenv get boot_part ( says 1 )
ubootenv set boot_part 2
cd /tmp
wget firmware from ftp site.
write frimware linux
reboot

I opened a ticket to make them aware we must be at the limit, I sat here reflashing over and over and sometimes it goes, and sometimes it does not.. same with last build. since some of us are not having issues and some are so i just wanted to make them aware. who knows..... shrug.

WRT1200ac v1 - same as previous release - Reported success but came up in r40188.

I did not have to reboot with this release like previous it just came up with the same release I was running prior to the update.

WRT1900ACv1
I also couldn't flash from r40188 to r40276 - it would restart without changing.
I used the command in the first post:
ubootenv set boot_part 2
Success!

These are the filesizes of webflash.bin for WRT1900ACSV2 since 40134:

39,325,696 40134--ddwrt-linksys-wrt1900acsv2-webflash.bin
39,456,768 40167--ddwrt-linksys-wrt1900acsv2-webflash.bin
39,718,912 40189--ddwrt-linksys-wrt1900acsv2-webflash.bin
39,718,912 40260--ddwrt-linksys-wrt1900acsv2-webflash.bin
39,718,912 40276--ddwrt-linksys-wrt1900acsv2-webflash.bin

40167 was the last version that flashed without complaints but it has webui problem.
From 40189 onwards, people were reporting flashing difficulties.

Just tried on my 1900 V1. Same results.
It seems these recent builds will only load into Partition 1

I too have been unable to make the last two versions work on my 3200 with NordVPN. Specifically any device listed in my PBR list won't connect. Since I have a large list of static leases, I always avoid doing a reset.

I do like to stay up to date and again I thank BS and all the super users, but I'm staying with 6-27-19.

Updated with FF 68.0x64. Usual flash and reboot time. No issues and all functions working.

There is no such thing as a non-beta dd-wrt release. ddwrt is in perpetual beta mode. Basically a way of disclaiming any liabilities of you putting ddwrt on a production mission critical network without fully vetting the build yourself.

That said ddwrt is still in general more stable and robust than the garbage stock firmware in most SOHO routers.

Agreed. I tend to make notes of each release, and keep a copy. I have a few "favorites" and when things act up, I jump on back to that last favorite.
