I'm working with two older routers: Netgear WNR3500L v2, and Netgear AC1450. Running r40189 on both. My goal is to create a common VAP for guests across a network of 3 hard-wired routers. But first step is to get VAP to work using the bridging method.

I can verify that after following the setup in the Multiple WLANS guide, it doesn't work with these two routers. I dutifully tried the recommended startup script (sleep 10;stopservice nas;stopservice wlconf;startservice wlconf;startservice nas), but that doesn't work either.

So I dug back into the posts, and found the one from quarkysg at https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=317181 suggesting replacement of wlconf. THAT worked. On both routers.

I thought that would be useful to post, since the VAP problem seems to be persistent in recent builds. I hope this helps.
