I kept dropping 2.4ghz band on my r7800. This evening briefly, the clients couldn’t even see it.
Reverted back to dd-wrt. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.
I found a possible reason for the 2.4G issue - USB3. I have a usb harddisk attached to EA8500. USB cable is about 50cm long. When connected it at USB3 port. sometimes I got 2.4g issue (note: sometimes). With 18.06, 2.4g kept connecting & dropping. With 19.07(tried many sub-version of 19.07), sometimes could not find 2.4g but sometimes it worked very well (last for about 1 hour). Now I am running Ver19.07 Jun 26 and attach usb harddisk to USB2+ESATA port. The 2.4g is stable now. I will report the status tomorrow.

yep possible usb 3 interference. also try using another channel either 6 or 11 and stick to 20mhz
Has been stable for 20 hours. 2.4G is set as channel 3(because too many ch1&ch11), N, forced 40M, 20db(100mw). Transmission works well to download about 5GB to USB hard-disk which connected into USB2 port.

I’m sure all of those around you appreciate you using channel 3 and 40mhz. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.

'appreciate'. the worst combo using overlapping channel + forcing 40mhz not only to your own wireless env but also the neighbors
solution:
- use ch 1,6,11
- 20mhz or 20/40
- beacon interval prime numbers -see below
- dtim 2,3
