Walking into a job half complete and picking up where others left off.
DD-WRT-r36247 was installed onto two Linksys WRT1900ACSv2 Routers from stock firmware apparently without any hiccups. I am attempting to install the same version onto a third identical router. However I have reached a point where upgrading the firmware from version r34315 causes a update failed error message.
I installed from sock firmware to r34315, as factory to ddwrt for r36247 would also cause an error. Now trying to upgrade from r34315 to r36247.
My laptop with the firmware ddwrt-linksys-wrt1900acsv2-webflash.bin is disconnected from the network with wireless connections turned off. The router is only connected via Ethernet cable to the laptop. The laptop has been statically assigned 192.168.1.8 and the default gateway is 192.168.1.1 as per the peacock thread. I am using chrome and have cleared browser data and I have turned off my firewall and antivirus.
Before upgrading I performed a 30-30-30 hard reset, created new credentials, and began installation of the update mentioned above. Unfortunately this is where I’m stuck at. The installation screen appeared with a countdown from 300 seconds. Being wary of the horror stories on the peacock thread I left it to do this until it was done. However after a hour of it being stuck on this screen a pop up appeared saying "firmware update failed" at this point I did a power cycle on the router and it returned itself back to the state it was in before attempting the update. After this I attempted just jumping one firmware iteration to the next but the same issue still persisted.
