Are you pinging your router IP from a client?
What client are you using?
I ping my router IP from my laptop (intel n7260 wifi) to my wrt1900acsv2 (tried 39884 (30 may) and 39944), pings should be <2ms for wired connection. For wireless, I get low single-digits, and a teen once in a while.
If I use an iPhone8 to do wireless ping, I get between 10-20ms. _________________

On my laptop using 2.4GHz or 5GHz with N the ping to the router is <2ms. With my phone on ACS (Android 9.0) ping is c.20ms. (Both using ping command in terminal).
