Can't switch back to Netgear firmware

I'm currently running DD-WRT v3.0-r37305 std (10/10/1Cool on a Netgear R6300v2 and the installation instructions where I got that build from at https://dd-wrt.com/support/router-database/?model=R6300_v2 say I can go back to netgear firmware by using the ddwrt interface and uploading a netgear firmware, this simply isnt working. ive tried multiple firmwares, multiple browsers, etc it just keeps going back to the ddwrt build or just freezing and never fully uploading the netgear firmware
