Hello,
I try to find any information, but..
R7000, when I used old firmware 38xxx build - I use FTP function from web-config - and it worked fine.
When I use new firmware 39xxx from Betas or from Kong - FTP doesn't work from Web-Config.
I tried use SSH and start it manually, I tried reset to default few times and flash new firmware again but - it doesn't work.
When I back to old firmware again - ProFTPD work fine.
Indeed, got the same result on my EA6900 using last few builds. About run it manually, im not sure if the startservice/stopservice commands are working or if the syntax has change, i tried with other services and nothing happened. Also dlna have some sart issues, in some builds after sometime it stop, and the only way to start is disable->apply->enable->apply from WebUi, from Cli doesnt work.
The last build that work (Ftp/Samba/Dlna) for me was r39508 _________________

Some strange things, but it 1/2 works on Kong latest firmware, but it not easy way:
1. I flashed r39508 with reset to default.
2. Made all configuration.
3. Flashed new (39855) Kong firmware WITHOUT reset to default (I trivially forgot about it).
4. Profit
Problem in saving configuration. Now I can use ftp, but I can't change user, password and share dir. I can use only that I configured earlier.
not working for me either.. can someone tell me what you mean add acess through web and reboot. i already have all access setup and it was working in prior built stopped working after ugrading on all my routers.
What I did:
I made all access ftp permission through web interface
Then I reboot router
and it began to work.
But for one of the build this strategy doesn't work, you need to flash older firmware, make all access permission, then flash new firmware without clean settings.
It not good at all, but can work without deep commands.
Web config works fine. Service just not starting up on all 3 of my routers r7000 Asus ac5300 and netgear x8 8500. Putting proftpd in statup command fixed it.
