I've currently got a Netgear R7000, which is great, but I am unable to get more than 200mb through it without disabling the "Shortcut Forwarding Engine".. Enabling this stops Yamon from recording correctly.

Can somebody please tell me what kind of speed they manage to get from their Netgear R7500 (running DD-WRT) with the SFE disabled?

Get the R7800 instead. Well supported and good through 800Mb.

I only considering the R7500 as I've been offered one cheap. Smile It looks like it will struggle with 400mb broadband, like my R7000, so I might pass.

Thanks.

It have a 1.4 Ghz CPU versus R7800's 1.7 Ghz.

The R7800 have two ports from CPU to switch. I don't know how the R7500v2 is wired.

I presume you mean a R7500v2. On the R7500v1, the 5 Ghz wifi does not work (Quantenna chip). The v2 is QCA.

Takk Per Yngve, it appears to be the R7500 v1 - so thats certainly no good if the 5Ghz doesnt work. Very Happy
