Well I take back what I said earlier about this build, at least partially.
It appears that DHCP wont work when logging on directly to the 2.4Ghz. Neither with a static set in services or without.
Same device will get IP config from a 3200 connected as a client, but will not work directly with thw 3200 master.
So I guess we can say there is a problem with the 3200 DHCP. Ironically I have an AP with wmm disabled on the 2.4Ghz and my ESP8266 devices still connect properly and get IP's without hesitation.
I will stick with the current build as it is still the best I have seen recently and this quirk with the DHCP is not affecting me as most of my devices are remote through Client driven routers and for some reason the Sonoff devices are OK. _________________ Starlink & DSL -> TPLink TL-R470T+

What does encrypt dns do, aside from the obvious.
Want to know if i should se that setting too.
Encrypt DNS in the DNSMasq section of Services>Services sets up DNS-server access using DNSCrypt. If you enable it, a dropdown menu appears allowing you to select from a variety of DNS providers that support DNSCrypt. Do google for more, but I gather that DNSCrypt's original purpose was to provide validation of DNS responses from the server you query (not the ones further upstream) to prevent DNS spoofing.
It is also possible to use DNSCrypt-compatible servers not in the menu (e.g. Quad9) or to use multiple DNSCrypt-compatible servers. See my Sun Jan 06, 2019 post in https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=318094
Now I have a question for you. Is it true, as one poster in this thread suggested, that the encryption option is no longer present in the DNSMasq section? Or was he just seeing a GUI bug specific to his situation? I'd hate to lose DNSCrypt. I've been using it for a couple of years. _________________ 2x Netgear XR500 and 3x Linksys WRT1900ACSv2 on 53544: VLANs, VAPs, NAS, station mode, OpenVPN client (AirVPN), wireguard server (AirVPN port forward) and clients (AzireVPN, AirVPN, private), 3 DNSCrypt providers via VPN.

For what its worth....the Status/Sys-Info tab shows DHCP Enabled-Stopped on mine WRT1900AC V1
No DHCP addresses handed out to any device whether 2.4 or 5Ghz. Did not verify if WIRED DHCP fails but suspect it will based on opening information.
I use 50 some odd STATIC Leases...and none are in the range of the DHCP pool.
Reverted to 39296 til this is resolved.
Anybody have a clue as to STOP/START command line capablity? _________________ WRT1900AC V1 Firmware-41517
