Hi guys,

I have a WRT54GL wireless router with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/10/09) std(SVN revision 13064) hooked up to a Motorola Surfboard SB5101 modem.

Long story short, I can never access the modem's address. If I want to access this page, I have to swap ethernet cables every time so that my computer is directly connected to the modem (and not the router). Only then I can access

However, at my buddy's house, we are always able to access He has a WRT54G router with oem (original, non-ddwrt) firmware.

Is this a limitation of the WRT54GL, the dd-wrt firmware, or both? Also, is there anything I can do that will allow me to access the modem's page without swapping cables?

Thanks in advance!

Read the forum announcements thoroughly! Be cautious if you're inexperienced.
Available for paid consulting. (Don't PM about complicated setups otherwise)
Looking for bricks and spare routers to expand my collection. (not interested in G spec models)

Also, make sure you have the SB connected to the GL's WAN port...not LAN port. I got burned by that once upon a time.
