I modified my R7000 back in 2014 using Kong's build, and have been very happy with it. In fact, I was lucky enough to get a rare chip that would overclock with ease and still stay very cool.
Fast forward to 2019 and my needs have changed. I'm now streaming 4k video from my PC (Plex, HW transcoding), as well as placing nutty audiophile-type demands on my network. And since it's five years old, sooner or later it's going to take a dump.
The AX12 is due for an early April release, are there plans for a DD WRT build? And is the AX12 projected to be a good solution at this time, or is the X10 a better solution? That 2.4GHZ processor...! _________________ Netgear R7000 @ 1400 (DD-WRT Kong's 26160) |

well...according to your sign this is the oldest build ive seen running on R7000, there is a lot of water since than...now the current build is 39000 ish ...
hmmm if this is not a brag R7000 should do ok with streaming 4k and so on, but if so i don't see any point R7800 wouldn't do it, for example its so far the best price/performance/supported DD-WRT router...and it has high specs too...one level above is R9000 also Kong supported and better specs but still not in its best support...
while regarding x8-10-12 they are not on the DD-WRT menu....yet...as well they are too pricey
although they seem with better shape/specs they are still not supported and i doubt it will be that quick to perceive that endeavour... _________________ Atheros
