I have a Motorola MR1700 with a MediaTek MT7621AT CPU and was wondering if there were some way to get DD WRT on to it. There is not much out there on this model and DD WRT. What I am really after is a way to monitor bandwidth usage (eg YAMon or equivalent). In the alternate, is there a way to modify the existing firmware to do this? Thanks in advance for any help!

Looks like Motorola thru Amazon is trying to get in the market with wireless technology.
If its anything like their cell phones, it should be a good addition at a decent price.
BUT
The guys would need a donation router to get started.

See the Ralink/Mediatek forum. It's not a popular chip-set for dd-wrt.

This forum is for hardware modifications.

I note as far as specs are concerned, the DLink DIR-878 is extremely close to the MR1700. The boards for both seem to be made by the manufacturer. Do you think it possible that the dd wrt firmware for that router could somehow be flashed to the MR1700?
