An RT-N16 has been outfitted with EXT2 formatted USB flash drive, which is mounted to /opt.

Although there are posting for OTRW and OTRW2, the links for the install scripts are out of service. I did find a copy of Frater's OTRW script on GitHub however, however it failed to install:

The firmware's kernel is 2.6.24.111 and the Entware script is for a kernel of 3.X. Is there support for a 2.6 kernel?

My apologies. I thought the wiki stated your router was capable of K3.X.

@sigals can you provide details / scripts / links / guidance that would enable the community to install entware on the RT-N16? Thank you

Entware will install on the Asus N16 using the default installation script for mipsel. The only requirements are enough space (will require a microSD card) or USB stick and 3X build. At one time there was Entware based on Linux 2.6, but I think it got merged in with the 3X stuff on github.

Some generalized stuff can be found on their github wiki here: https://github.com/Entware/Entware/wiki

DD-WRT wiki article: https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Installing_Entware

PS: I wrote the DD-WRT wiki article for Entware. I used Atheros (mips) but the commands are all outlined in the wiki article.

Yes recommend entware over optware. I don't think the optware repositories are maintained well. I used entware.net .
