Router ModelAsus RT-N66U
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r37305 big ( 10/10/18 )
Kernel VersionLinux 3.10.108-d6 #21212 Wed Oct 10 16:41:43 CEST 2018 mips

Hello All,

I have separated all VLAN ports to have their own IP range. One of the ports is connected to living room TV. I want to ensure that the IP range connected to TV always passes through safe search .

can you please suggest a way to achieve this?

thank you.

Can you explain what a "safe search" is?

Hi Per Yngve,

Thanks for responding.

Safe search here refers to https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/186669?hl=en and https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6214622?hl=en.

Cognizant that it is possible to enforce this across all interfaces, but my situation here is to just enforce on one single VLAN port instead of all interfaces.

Thanks.

Google's "safesearch" is a DNS setting - it overrides the lookup for www.google.com to force safe search.

So setting this up will have nothing to do with VLANs, but rather proper configuration of dnsmasq to override the lookup for www.google.com for the IP range of your living room.
