I just bought a Linksys EA6100-CA. I knew that it did not have DD-WRT support, but I am hoping to help change that. I have Serial and JTAG experience. I just need some direction on where to find the Serial port on the router. Detailed photos can be found in this thread: https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1038923
If those are not good enough, I can take some more. I have already opened the router up and tested some voltages at some of the possibilities, no luck yet.
Tried 3-hole group of pads on the right and left side of the board. Only found 3.3V and ground and possibly a Tx or Rx, but not both.
I want to at least get a serial connection going (USB-UART) so that I can see the Linksys firmware booting up. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.

Some dd-wrt wiki pages are up to date, others are not. PM me if you find an old one.

May be not supposed. But hardware is compatible with
Gabage xiami 3 router due no eLNAS and ePAs. Just flash with pb boot mi3 then fw after that. Ea6100 has both extended power amplifier and low noise amplifier on both bands. So signal around 30dmb with improve over 100 ft distance. You can adjust on mtd3 Factory eeprom with give router more configuration if you still want used linksy's fw. MT7620 datasheet and 7612e eeprom program laid around, search and find out.
I don't understand what to flash it with. I am an Electronic Engineering Technician. I have dealt with EEPROM, Power amplifiers and low noise amplifiers. I am looking for DD-WRT support for this particular router. It should be fairly close to a Buffalo WHR-1166D. I don't really want to flash any thing other than a test dd-wrt build on this router. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I was able to get a factory back-up pulled from serial of the entire linux partion (one of them anyways). Note, takes a long-time, don't try it. I have successfully used it to recover the router once already.
So far, I have been unable to flash the Buffalo WHR-1166D dd-wrt firmware. It gives a kernel panic. I have two of these so I don't mind experimenting or testing firmware.
