I could use the TFTP server and the router read the file mentioned by our canadian friend. (I had the rename the file to this new one name "ArcherC7v5_tp_recovery.bin")
While the router is "off" you must press the reset button and then "power on" the router. It worked with openwrt
Look the video that I have done in this router installing openwrt

Were you able to get DD-WRT on the router, or just OpenWRT?

As I didn't have a clear answer from the dd-wrt I decided install openwrt in the router and it works.

Hi thanks for your help. I wil lbuy on of those 2 serial adapter. I have seen you provide a new file agaion. I will test it tomorrow. By the way i have installed open wrt via GUI on the router.

http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/targets/ar71xx/generic/openwrt-ar71xx-generic-archer-c7-v5-squashfs-factory.bin
Maybe you can check the header of that file with your file to make it running.

For what it's worth I tried to tftp flash this file as well, and it definitely is requesting it by filename (ArcherC7v5_tp_recovery.bin) but it doesn't appear to be accepting it for flashing.

factory-to-ddwrt.2.bin
I was able to flash the file via Web Gui and i works but after reboot the router bricked. I have tried 4 times and also did hard reset 30/30/30 but always after flash it brick.
Brainslayer already closed the ticket hope he can have a look on the file and find the error why the router bricks after flashing.

I tried the factory-to-ddwrt.2.bin and it wouldn't flash via tftp on my v5. I don't have a serial adapter to get console logs unfortunately.
