- WiFi broken in k3.x editions since build 35531 for modes other than AP?
- 5GHz problem can be solved by adding delay (boot wait?) in init process?
What kind of 5Ghz issues you are mentioning? since when Asus RT-N18U has 5Ghz???
mwchang is listing what others have said about the build, along w/ a section for issues in older builds; unrelated to his own comments. _________________ #NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD#Repeater issues#DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo#

Issues/Errors: vap needs wlconf fix from quarkysg (upgrade via web UI worked!).
Upgraded from r35531 (reported in the C9 thread as stable). With r35531 my Android smartphone intermittently lost its internet connection. Hope this is solved now.
Unfortunately my Android smartphone still has this issue.
It takes my phone (Moto Z Play) up to a minute to connect to wifi (5 GHz N/AC mixed). With my old D-Link DIR-825C1 (running an older DD-WRT build) this used to be almost instantly.

FWIW, I just ran a WiFi disconnect-connect test with my Android phone to my Archer C9v1 running r37442. Connected in ~1s. My phone is a cheap pay as you go Android 6 Samsung with Wireguard VPN always on. My main test for WiFi stability on this router is the kids - if they don't complain about pauses and disconnects while gaming, it's good . The last r37405 release generated some complaints, but so far r37442 is good. _________________ Linksys EA8500

I usually only upgrade my router once or twice a year and it has been overdo for a while. I don't do anything real fancy. One feature that I do use is VAP guest wifi. This has been broke for quite some time. Yes yes, I know there is a workaround bandaid but I would much rather have the root problem fixed.
Does anyone know if this is actively being worked on or is the VAP script how it's going to be done for many releases to come?

Did you select 'reset to defaults' on the firmware upgrade page? If so, that has been a buggy feature which broke resulting in httpd crash when upgrading. If you want to do a soft reset via the webUI before and after flash, you have to do it manually.

Yes, right it seems to be this feature! So the hanging upgrade seems to be related to" 'reset to defaults' on the firmware upgrade page, thank you. Since when is it broken?

By 'manually' I mean via the 'reset to defaults' page, not the CLI. And all you should have to do is erase nvram / nvram erase via CLI, if you reset that way.
On upgrade I choose "reset to defaults", this time. Before I reseted via cli and I didn't notice anything, but serial was not attached and I power cycle it anyway. If I really want it to be reseted, I give it a
erase nvram_cfe
erase nvram
erase ddwrt
via console, what I did after the upgrade via the serial console

i think that every unit that has unbound should use it as default instead of dnsmasq...
problematic are routers that unbound don't fit in because of limited flash size...
I know there are users who could argue me but that's my opinion at the moment...

Mode: Automatic Configuration - DHCP
Status: It works, but... Dx
The problems I've detected are:
- If "Use DNSMasq for DHCP" is disabled, "DHCP Server" is marked as "Disabled" in "Status - LAN" and "Enabled - Running" in "Status - Sys.Info".
* Enable / Disable "DNSMasq" in "Services - Services" doesn't change the result.
* And yes, it doesn't assign IP to anyone...you can only connect by configuring the IP from the Router (or from your Device). And the "Hostname" are always "*"
- When you put a value on the "Static DNS #" (for example: 1.1.1.1 - 1.0.0.1 - 8.8.8.8), in "Status - WAN" there're those 3, but in Windows (ipconfig /all) there are 6 (the 3 that you have configured, and the 3 that my ISP gives).
- It seems that "TX Power" in "Wireless - Advanced Settings" hasn't effect...and if it's in "Auto", it always uses the value that was set in "Manual".
* According to "Status - Wireless" and "Status - Sys-Info".
- "NAT / QoS - QoS" doesn't work, it doesn't do anything....and if you leave it "Enable", the Internet is cut off after 2 minutes (more or less).
* The Internet only returns if you turn off Router...but fails again if you don't disable QoS.
Mmm...yeah, I think that's all. :P
Outside of that, everything seems to be working perfectly.
I do this process:
-01- Set my Internal IPv4 to Static, disable Firewall and any security, and be connected to Router by Ethernet Cable (as it is already done, I only disconnect the Cable that goes in ETHERNET, which corresponds to my Cable-Modem)
-02- Make a Hard Reset (30/30/30) and wait 5 minutes
-03- Turn Router off for 30 seconds and then wait 2 minutes
-04- Update the firmware (without checking the "Reset to Default settings" option) and wait 5 minutes
-05- Make a Hard Reset (30/30/30) and wait 5 minutes
-06- Turn Router off for 30 seconds and then wait 2 minutes
-07- Configure the Router and then I can return everything to as it was
* I make a video showing all my configuration and then apply it manually...after that, I connect the cable that goes in ETHERNET and I'm done. :P _________________ Me llamo Soy R.A. pero me dicen RA.
After reading several reviews, seemed that the rt-ac66 was working better with recent releases. At least it didn't lost the 5GHz band
However, it still is having the same problems with the nas daemon. Still restarts every 2m

Went back to DD-WRT v3.0-r35531 giga (03/26/18 ) and it isn't showing anymore of those errors. This one seems to be the last release that doesn't show this problem
