I wonder if there's interest in porting DD-WRT for the Edgerouter-X.

CPU: MediaTek MT7621AT (800 MHz) - Dual Core CPU
Flash: 256MB
RAM: 256MB
System-On-Chip: MediaTek MT7621AT
Switch: MediaTek MT7621
LAN speed: 10/100/1000

Openwrt committed support for this device here:
https://dev.openwrt.org/changeset/47881

It seems like this $50 little device could be a powerful one running DD-WRT.

If there's interest in adding support we can start by donating one. Please feel free to explain the process to donate one.

Fair enough. I will use it as is then. It is probably way more stable then anyway.

eh, this is something i would [still] like to see.

'been using ddwrt for long dang time as a prosumer router distribution, know it well; to the extent i will use the stock fw, it would just be to do the same old stuff, my real goal is just to do so with significantly more horsepower.

openwrt supports this hw, but again, not my favorite fw.

i think most issues come from radios, but since the ERX doesn't have any, i don't see why it would be especially bugged.

all that said, i'll probably just learn new stuff, and stick with the oem; since it is so flexible out of the box - though my initial reaction was to go with an openwrt build replacement fw for reasons...
