Loaded via web interface from 36840 without reset
All functions working as expected. Slight reduction of signal in the 5GHz SSID, seen on WiFi Analyser (~-40 dBm with 36840 and ~-45 dBm with this version)
My router is up and running for almost 8 hours now - and no unknown issues noticed.
VAPs not working after reboot. The workaround startup command suggested in build 37139 not helping. VAP works initially, but post reboot - no device are able to connect to the SSID. Suspecting a DHCP issue, I manually configured the Wireless IP ... no change. No entries found in syslog.
Web Interface Upgrade is still not happening. Just to check a previous difficulty, I tried going back to 36840 via web interface. This stops after 1% transfer, meaning that this difficulty still exists. Unable to state whether this is because of some difference in Kong & BS versions. Request BS to please address this issue and allow reverting to 36840 or 36820 via web interface.
So far, 36840 seems to be the most stable version for the R6400v2 with board xxxx30. Here too, the VAP support is sadly missed. No other issues noticed with this version either. I will continue using this for some time and edit/add this comment if I see anything.
EDIT/ADD #1: Tried to work with this version from a totally clean install. Went back to stock ... followed egc's install guide completely. Till loading the .chk file and then erase/reboot, all was fine. Could not load any .bin file (including the one from same build) via web interface. 1% transfer and stop while the clock counts down to zero. Manual reboot shows the same build with no changes. Router performance shows no hiccups.
EDIT/ADD #2: Running rock stable for more than 24 hours. Moreover, the 5GHz signal has improved now (~-45dBm @ 2m from router). So my sincere thanks to BS (and Kong for 36820/36840) with a short wish list:
(1) VAP support ... this feature is too good to miss. No downgrade available for use on R6400v2 either - hence Stuck.
(2) Ability to do seamless upgrade via Web Interface (currently unable to flash even the .bin file of the same 37305 version)
I have discovered a workaround to go from BS builds to Kong's. Use NMRPFLASH and flash directly to Kong's .chk file. Settings seem to hold. Applicable for select Netgear Routers only (I did this on my R6400v2) _________________ PROFESSIONAL STUDENT my.Mistakes ∝ my.Learning ... provided I have the patience & persistence to learn

Router/Version: Netgear 3500Lv1
one more Issue: mount storage does not work
[edit] Sorry not too much to do with the build
solution: nvram set boardflags=0x00000710, don't know why it was wrong: boardflags=0x00001710 meant no USB power

Router: Linksys wrt320n
Firmware: dd-wrt.v24-37305_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega_wrt320n
Previous: 34777
Status: Working, but MAC Address Clone is broken
Reset: Yes
Errors: No
With 34777, LAN and Wireless MACs were duplicated, but using MAC Address Clone to change the wireless MAC worked. It does not work in 37305 mega. However, in 37305 mini, the MACs aren't duplicated and MAC Address Clone works fine.
And it gave me an error about being the wrong version. Kong's older build flashed without issue.
I tried to cross flash to Brainslayer's and now I have a semi-bricked boot-looping Doorstop!
I guess I'll have to JTAG it now because TFTP just isn't working! I never had any issues with my older R7000.

Bought a new router, my old N66U finally started to die after 3 good years or so. The AC87U is a refurb and pretty good. The ASUS software actually looked ok, but I like DDWRT best now. 37305 works ok, but the new features such as speed test don't work for me. Also, the router uptime is good, but first connecting to it each day, I get not connected to the internet errors using a chrome browser. Its like its asleep or something. Usually pages load fine from there on out. Funny thing is, I have security cams and other active components going so the router should not be asleep.....if there is such a thing. I searched around, but is there a better software version to run on this router?
Router Model: ASUS N66R (reported as N66U)
Prior: 30949 build
Reset: no
Status: seemed to work ok for a day. Today started to become non-responsive. On the first occasion could not even ping it, although strangely existing ssh connections tp WAN remain working! Could not get to it from WAN as well. Rebooted the beast, seemed has come to its senses. Later on again non-responsive for me on a laptop -- I disconnected/reconnected WiFi -- seems to work ok for now.
