Does dd-wrt have specific key requirements for ssh key-based login?
I can login with ssh via password, but I would like to disable password login and allow only key-based login. I know how to use ssh fairly well. However, I cannot get the key-based login to work on two different routers, both running dd-wrt (one standard, one kong build).
I assume ed_25519 keys may not work, so I tried 4096 bit rsa keys. Are those too big? Is there some other requirement I'm overlooking?
As stated, I do have password login working, so the basic sshd settings are correct. Also, I use ssh all day long to log into various servers, so there's not likely any problem with my general ssh settings, keys, etc. I have run ssh with "-vvv" (no errors, it simply doesn't accept the key) and I have checked /tmp/root/.ssh/authorized_keys and the public key is correct.

Didn't read with precision earlier, avoid elliptic. Between the natural limitations of embedded and dropbear, sometimes things that ordinarily work will silently fail.
