Hi

I was on the latest version of Kong's software for this R7000, and I had major problems with WIFI dropping all the time. Usage scenario is the main router for an office and warehouse where Access needs to remain connected. Upgraded to DD-WRT v3.0-r36808M std (08/30/1Cool in the hopes it would fix the problem, and it's still the same. Any way around this issue? Thanks!

Has anyone found an effective way to test for wifi drops other than just waiting to observe it on devices?

there are many reasons for wi fi drops..
try to isolate them one by one...
very often bad Wi-Fi settings... don't use auto channel, and ect.

bad Wi-Fi clients....some Wi Fi cards are just bad with bad drivers, try to update them or swap with other better compatible card

WiFi interference...WiFi congested area or strong noise like amplifiers, another radio emitting devices or bad power lines and so on... try to move the router on a different place...

bad hardware, damaged router...

in my case i have R7000 and never ever had any issues or complains about poor signal, drops or anything else..it was an edge router serving many Wi-Fi & LAN clients no complains at all rock solid unit, now it's replaced with R7800 and its flawless too

finally try a newer build...read the wiki and ask google how to set your WiFi dd-wrt

On newer builds you can try to set the Key Renewal interval to 0 (Wireless security page).
Some phones have trouble with newer post krack fix builds and setting the Key renewal interval to 0 sometimes helps
