*While they guarantee 4mbps up and down, if the server you're connected to has bandwidth available, it will let you have it above and beyond 4mbps.

Importantly they allow and help you do Port Forwarding which makes life much easier if you want to remote control a device behind the VPN

Avoid free vpns specially for torrenting. I use Express VPN, which is not free but you can get a 30 day trial if you look around. While it is a little bit more expensive than over VPN services, I find that it works brilliantly for streaming video which has been geo blocked and for torrenting due to optimized p2p servers. Nord, PIA are also good options and they are also less expensive. Before going for someone, complete your research. I did from a detailed guide about ExpressVPN here

True that buddy I would also never prefer free VPN, rather go for a VPN with free trial. I have tried CyberGhost free trial and then opt its paid plan for my all sorts of anonymous browsing Wink. It is one of the best and fastest VPN and price is also satisfactory.

I switched to NordVPN from TorGuard due to speed issues. Currently using their 2-day free trial. Speed is satisfying and I will probably buy this. I have a few queries for other NordVPN users...

1. Is there any script/program to dynamically find out the best server in a country (other than the server link that NordVPN provides)

2. Has anyone succeeded in loading a random-server script on the router? (Should choose a random server from a list each time the router is booted)

Random server was possible in Torguard because they use a common certificate for all servers. In NordVPN, each server has its own certificate. In addition to choosing a random server - the script would need to load the corresponding certificate and this is where I am stuck.

Any information is good information please ...

An ex-TorGuard user, I had all their scripts ready, so natural choice was to go back to them. All ok - but speed was a major issue. TorGuard support tried to blame my router and my location (excessive latency). To cut a long story short - I opted for their 7-day money back guarantee. Was refunded within 5 days. That was honest.

Next choice: PureVPN (price vs value seemed reasonable). Having opted out of TorGuard, I wanted to try and buy. I requested their chat-line to give me free VPN for at least 4 hours. They gave me a 2.5 dollar 3-day trial package. Unbelievable!!! Here's how I interpreted this paid-trial offer "let's ensure that we at least fleece this guy $ 2.5. After seeing our network he will not come back anyway". Stupid marketing strategy. If you do not trust your customer - why should he trust you?

Next: NordVPN or ExpressVPN ... both charging premium rates that I did not want to pay without trying. NordVPN was giving a 2-day trial package - and I decided to use that. I was able to google out some discounted coupon codes (Good marketing strategy ...). Now, I had price that I could accept + a tested VPN provider. ExpressVPN had no trial packs - so they did not deserve my time and attention.

Here are some points on NordVPN.
* Multiple servers in multiple countries (>5000 servers)
* Good Speeds on some servers (You may need to manually try different countries and servers to find the ones that suit you best)
* Very slow PC-based dialer. Takes ages to connect (maybe they speed-test multiple servers to select the optimal one ... but this can take even 5 minutes)
* Difficulty in configuring random server script with dd-wrt (I have still been unable to do it. With TorGuard, this was easy peasy)
EDIT/ADD: Have done this. Some servers have common certificate ... you need to manually (painstakingly) find out a few that suits you and limit the random choices to these servers only

My advice to all who buy VPN: Refuse to pay until you have tried out their servers. Boycott those providers who cannot trust you with a 24-hour Free Trial ... there is always a not-so-good reason why they are shy of giving trial packs. You are paying your money and the least you deserve is to know what you will get in return.
Will these companies pay their employees 12-month salary in advance against a 30-day money-back guarantee. Exactly !!

I would like to share some suggestion for anyone who is looking to get a decent VPN service. Personally, I use a NordVPN service at the moment. Other than that there are some ways to choose a VPN that is essential to consider while choosing a VPN service.

I was comparing NordVPN vs ExpressVPN and found that NordVPN has quite more better features then Expressvpn.

Nordvpn has double hop routes traffic through at least two hops and advances the security. Zero log policy and have smooth experience.

Regarding dedicated double security, server, and encryption services, NordVPN is a winner as ExpressVPN doesn’t offer this kind of services.

How Can I help You..?

I'll throw my recommendation in for Private Internet Access also, for all of the reasons listed above AND

- Excellent speeds, even with AES 256-bit encryption
- Lots of servers in convenient locations
- No noticeable performance issues during typical streaming hours in the evenings
- Apps available for phones and laptops when you are on the go
