no difference in latency, still highly elevated over k3.18. 5ghz ac wifi cant get max speed without forcing max freq on cpu. wifi noise and signal values still broken. _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

Why do I get this error? (previously I have only used ddup --flash-latest and that worked without problem)
root@R7800:~# ddup --flash-remote http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-IPQ806X/Test-4.9/ddwrt-netgear-R7800.bin

I also downloaded the bin-file to my laptop and tried --flash-local without success. I guess I should have copied the fw file from my client computer (laptop) to the router's file system for that to work, right?

No apparent problems during the process, but R7800 is still on Kong's 36810M.
I have passwordless SSH to my router. Connection is via ethernet cable. Copied the commands from jerrytouille's helpful post into the terminal (Ubuntu 18.04/Tilda) and double checked with ls -al that the file had indeed been downloaded into /tmp.
After the write command I didn't immediately realize I had to do the reboot in a new SSH session, as I was kicked out after the wget or during the write command. But SSH worked again/still, so I issued the reboot command.
Red lights etc. came on as usual, but in the end nothing had changed.
I didn't do the NVRAM erase, as I've had no problems with DDUP --flash-latest without resetting since I started using that in July. Whatever, that can't be the problem here. The FW just wasn't updated (per web GUI) and I have no clue ...

whats so special about ddup? if it doesnt work just webflash in gui..?
Of course! What was I thinking ...
The update worked in the web GUI ... Now let's see how it behaves.
DDUP is neat if you just want to update the lastest test version AND don't care about loosing the previous version that worked so well ... so, yes, you're right tatsuya46, what's so special about DDUP ...
Yes and I fixed another major bug in the kernel. The unit now routes gigabit at 25% CPU load, without any sfe. Wifi throughput is also through the roof.

updated from r36100M kongat to r36870M kongat (09/16/1 by web GUI on my backup/test r7800.
Up 4 hours
reset - no
PIA OpenVPN Client - good
vlan - good
VAP's - good
QOS - I don't use
USB Support - good
Samba - good
reboots well and picks up NTP (I've had problems with losing NTP on reboots which is main reason I reverted to r34900M kongat ( 02/14/18 ) on my main router. Expect scheduled reboot under "Administration" "Keep Alive" will now work well.)
CPU temp shows to 3 decimal places -CPU 55.658 °C / ath0 43 °C / ath1 33 °C
GUI interface seems quick
Outlook is positive for this version. Only time will tell. _________________ R7800 r53339 std (08/01/23)
Private network on bridge br0 = eth1 (vlan 1) + wlan0 + wlan1.
Guest network on bridge br1 = eth1.4 (vlan 4) + VAPs (wlan0.1 + wlan1.1) for IOT devices
(Roku's, Amazon Echos, smart switches, etc.) and guest.
Noob still finding my way.
swconfig dev switch0 set enable_vlan 1
swconfig dev switch0 vlan 1 set ports "1 2 6"
swconfig dev switch0 vlan 4 set ports "3 4 6t"
swconfig dev switch0 set apply
vconfig add eth1 4
brctl addif br1 eth1.4
ifconfig eth1.4 up
