for some odd reason TFTP on some routers requires a simple internet switch between PC and the router...
is that your experience with the 1043ND? is it worth me trying with a dumb switch between my vanilla XP machine and the 1043nd?
from what I can infer from the flashing and lack of any active ethernet port light remaining solid if connected, the lack of ping response on any possible ip address, that there is a looping reboot that is occurring without any of the lan ports ever becoming active..
I personally don’t think a switch will help in this case. They only way to know what’s going on is a serial recovery process.
In my opinion, every dd-wrt user should have the tools ready for serial recovery.
I've already ordered the necessary items, however just checking if there is anything that I have not considered or do not know as I am new to this..
Hello,
if you want to use dd-wrt again you should choose one the version listed in this post:

i couldn't find any newer version for the 1043nd V1.X which is working.
i bricked my 1043nds maybe 10-15 times to find out which is the latest working version.
