Im not sure for this last version because i wanted to try how advanced/good was lede and openwrt and i got dissapointed once again...
AAAAnyway...in previous versions i simply jumped from version to version simply using the apropiate upgrade file...i assume the proccess is the same...i dont upgrade super often but kinda every 6 months and only after a few days of others testing it...

EDIT: i was thinking, in the past i had problems to upgrade even if ddwrt to ddwrt specially if the people here issued to many versions between upgrades, if you have any problem upgrading you just need to go to factory then to the latest version, the factory revert file is also here in the forum somewhere, IF you have problems and IF you cant find the revert file ill help you but first use your googlefu powers IF you need it at all...(so many IFs lol)

There was a problem which prevented upgrade on this, and few other devices. You can check if 34080 was fixed, by trying to upgrade to latest build (34311 atm). I am stuck on 33555, and will upgrade (https://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=311642) only if this is fixed.

Read carefully my edit, maybe it works for your problem, basically go to FACTORY then again to latest firmware...anyway 34080 is about a month old iirc so im not going to even try an upgrade for a few months, keep in mind that with EVERY firmware write there is a tiny chance of bricking, if you write to often the chances pile up...no one is exempt, im just lowering the risk...

Hi guys,
i would switch from openwrt to ddwrt, so i thinked to first back to stock fw.
Now i can flash factory-to-ddwrt.bin using web interface or what else?
I would not brick my router making things wrong.

Thanks.

I had a 1043ND v1.4 and after upgrading to 33413 I failed to upgrade any further. It will just say upgrade success and reboot to the same firmware.

I was wondering if it is due to some stupid configuration mistakes that I had?

I just figured out I might have hit this issue and the fix seemed to work.

So I got a couple of tplink tl-wr1043ndv1 routers and using the UI bricked both of them with the latest (august 2018) firmware using the tplink UI.

Got myself a ttl serial dongle, soldered some pins on the boards and got the consoles hooked up. Using the proceedure

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHNrnLnLakE

I could get it to boot with the stock firmware, but not load the latest dd-wrt build, at boot it would fail to mount the root filesystem. From the tplink firmware ui it would not load the current builds.

went back to the serial console and loaded first a 2015 july build, then the last decembrer 2017 build, both successfully via tftp.

Now I cannot upgrade beyond the 343111 december 2019 build from the UI, no error from the dd-wrt ui ( web upgrade just reboots with the same version) however when I hook the console back up I get the following messages on the serial console when I try to load july or august 2018 webflash versions from the dd-wrt ui on version 343111:

Does this mean the current builds are too big for the 8mb of memory in the router? Any idea which is the last release that fit in 8mb?

any assistance is appreciated.

DD-WRT v3.0-r35681 is the last that works for me but can be flashed either from older DD-WRT only via Telnet or Serial Console, or from stock firmware via the web-update.

Like in another thread mentioned I was only able to flash the r36079 ddwrt firmware. Everything above will result in bootloops.

Any new news how to flash to a newer version of ddwrt?

The better question is: Is anyone working on the problem?

I tested it, no luck. Error is the same. Reverted to 36006.

hello, anyone have an idea what is the latest stable build for a 1043nd v1.8 (yes old as grandpa)?
currently i'm on v3.0-r27506. i'm always making a recommended fw update once a year or two,as you know krack and crypto mining on routers lately or whatnot.
thanks in advance, have a nice evening ...

As I've already stated in this topic - I'm running DD-WRT v3.0-r36104 std (06/10/18). It works just fine, but you won't be able to flash it via the web-flash.

New feature or bug? I mean the "special" flashing thingy?

A bug - wrong header in a flash file (or wrong header looked for by a web-flash utility). Can be flashed either from a stock TP-Link firmware or from a console.

I am stuck also in a bootloop.
https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=317313

If I read the last posts here, it seem like a know problem.

Maybe this should be mentioned here, to prevent other people in bricking their device:
