No it won't work correctly as it will not be detected correctly. If the v3 only differs in id, then it would be easy to also add it, but I have not seen any dumps.

Hi Kong,

Wikidevi shows same fcc id:

https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Netgear_R6700v3

Does that indicate the units are identical?

Thanks for your great work Kong! I am fairly untechnical when it comes to the wizardy that you guys pull off on DDWRT but I have a 6700v3 here and will try to help you as I can. It's the #1 selling router on Amazon so it deserves support if possible!

Let's not hijack the thread please, open a new one regarding R6700. Thanks.

Yes, I saw the commits on Trac, so they are being pushed to the main repo.

Hi,
thanks for great manual, for some reasons (cannot connect in client/bridge mode to my other AP) I want to go back to stock. My board_id isU12H332T30_NETGEAR.

Can you confirm that I need to modify the netgear firmware this way:

00 00 00 30 30 30 5F 4E 45 54 47 45 41 52 48 44 52 30 00 E0
=>
00 00 00 30 33 30 5F 4E 45 54 47 45 41 52 48 44 52 30 00 E0

I did the same. For TFTP upload it is imperative to change the ID in the firmware file to match your board ID. I tried a few times without success before I got that hunch to change the file itself.

For the 6700v3, do you need board IDs? Mine is:

board_id=U12H332T77_NETGEAR

If I'm posting this in the wrong thread, let me know. Since the build should now be a "unified version" I wasn't sure. If so, I'll take my 3 lashes with a wet noodle now and move it to a new one Smile.

Thanks for all your hard work....

That is great info. Kong was looking for a 6700v3 board ID.

Kong has made available a test build for R6700v3, I have not heard from him so use at your own risk and be sure to have access to serial for debricking.
File for going back to stock is attached at the beginning of this thread (3rd post)

Attached file to go back to stock and for use when TFTP is necessary

Can't you add this file to the first post? I'm foreseeing this thread is going to be a long one and dozens of people will ask where is the back to stock file for the 6700v3. If you can't then add a comment to point where is this file, paste the url, etc

You are absolutely right, and that is what I tried but there is a restriction to upload max 3 files apparently.
I will ask the second poster to upload the file
